1. Selecting a Topic: Finding the topic is the first step in research design |
2. Formulate the Thesis |
3. Choose the Types of Analyses |
4. Research & Write a Literature Review & Refine the Thesis |
5. Formulate Research Objectives ( ROs ) from the Types of Analysis ( TOA ) |
6. Conceptualization of the topic |
7. Choose the methodology / the Research Instrument |
8. Operationalization |
9. Formulate the Data Collection Strategy |
10. Obtain HIC Approval |
11. Perform a Pilot Study: the Senior Project is a Pilot Study & so no addition study will be required |
12. Collect Data utilizing efficient, effective & ethical methodological practices |
13. Prepare the Data for processing & analysis |
14. Process & Analyze Data |
15. The Interpretation &
making Inferences about Data allows the Researcher to draw conclusions
& state opinions about the findings of the research |
The type of interpretation is dependendent of the TOA & the type of Research Instrument |
For all types of research, the
reseacher should create a summary of the data & interpretation,
& clearly state the extent to which the thesis has or has not been supported |
Then the researcher should choose the most important results for further discussion |
Separate sections should address each of the most important results |
Appendicies should be used here to offer more detail of data & results |
At the end of the Interpretation the section, there are FOUR tasks |
Offer "personal" points of view |
Offer suggestions for further research |
Discuss weaknesses, errors, & other problems w/ the research |
Repeat the summary of the data & the most important results |
16. Write the Final Report |
17. Write Final HIC Report |
