stoichiometry, solutions, electronic structure, bonding and
geometry, periodic trends, and elementary thermochemistry.

kinetics, equilibrium systems, electrochemistry, gaseous

Fundamental aspects of inorganic and organic chemistry relating
to air, water, and soil/land/pollution, its prevention and
amelioration. Three class hours, three laboratory hours. Offered

CHM 4920: Introduction to Medicinal Chemistry
Prerequisites: CHM 3010 Organic Chemistry I or permission of
instructor
An introduction to the chemical and
biochemical principles underlying modern medicinal chemistry.
The course covers basic biochemistry, rational design of organic
and inorganic drugs and the mechanistic aspects of drug action.
