Intro
In order to develop your Topic, which will then be developed into a Thesis, which then will be developed into an Outline, and finally to create your Final Assignment (whether written or oral), this assignment is to
Brainstorm on your Topic in order to refine the topic.

What is brainstorming?
After you have picked a one-word, or one-phrase topic, simply make a list of descriptive features, relationships, ANYTHING that comes to mind on the topic.  The art of true brainstorming is to have no limits.  Any idea is important, no matter how trivial, because it may help you storm on to another idea that is not trivial, but instead becomes the gold you are searching for in your paper.

Write it down--simply make an unorganized list.
Keep the brainstorming list.  Add to it as your assignment progresses to the final product.
