About Myself

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business and Economics, University of Virginia, Wise. My areas of interest are Trade, Development and Environment. I teach Principles and Intermediate Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Trade,  International Finance, Managerial Finance, and Environmental Economics.

I completed my PhD (Economics) from the University of Wyoming, Laramie. I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Calcutta, India. I received my Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics and Statistics. I completed my Masters in International Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India before joining UW. I also did my second MS (Finance/Environment and Natural Resource Science) from UW. My future long-term goals are to work in an academic or research institute. I was born in Dehri-On-Sone, Bihar (eastern India) and was raised in various parts of West Bengal, India since I moved many times throughout my childhood. 

I worked as an Assistant Research Scientist for Wyoming Statistical and Analysis Center and also as a part-time Assistant Lecturer for the Department of Economics and Finance, UW. I also worked for Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi and Research and Information System, New Delhi.

Family

My wife, Kaushiki Saha is a visiting faculty at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, UVA-Wise. I have a son, Ashar Dad Khan, born on 7th September' 2004. My parents now live in Calcutta, India. My father is a retired Judge of Calcutta City Court and mom is a housewife. I have a younger brother who is a computer engineer and works for Qwest in Denver, CO. My sister (youngest) is also a computer engineer and works for Sattyam India Ltd, Chennai, India.
