The Upward Bound program serves ten high schools in Wise County, Russell County, Dickenson County, and the city of Norton. To quality for Upward Bound, students must meet at least one of two criteria. Eligible ninth, or tenth grade students must either:
 

1)           come from a family where neither parent has earned a four-year college degree, or

2)           the family taxable income must be below the
income levels set by the federal government.

           Interested students should complete an Upward Bound application, have a teacher recommendation and high school transcripts sent to the Upward Bound office. Information packets may be picked up at guidance counselors offices or by coming by the Upward Bound
office.
