The academic and counseling components are reinforced through supplemental activities and field trips. Cultural events, plays, museums, historical landmarks, and colleges help expose students to the "world of opportunities" that awaits them. At the end of the summer program, students attend a four day trip to various cities. Examples of past Upward Bound summer trips include:
