Office Hours  

Members of each of the SGA Branches have weekly office hours to provide members of the student body an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns about campus issues.

The Student Government Association is located in the Student Leadership Wing on the third floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center.  The office telephone number is 276/328-0213.

 
   
Weekly Meetings  

All students enrolled for six or more semester hours at the College are considered members of the Student Government Association during the time of their enrollment.

Weekly meetings are held each Friday at 1 pm in the Rhododendron Room on the fifth floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center.  All meetings are open to the public.

 
   
Regional Leadership Retreat  

Held annually, the Regional Leadership Retreat provides an opportunity for student leaders from area high schools to enhance their leadership abilities.  Topics for discussion include creative styles of leading and how to break away from leader norms, as well as additional leadership topics.

Holly Ball  

Holly Ball 2007 will be held on Friday, December 1 at the Inn at Norton (former Holiday Inn) from 10 pm - 1 am.  The theme for the event is "Blizzard Blast."

 

 
   
Spring Formal  

Spring Formal 2008 will be held on Friday, April 25 at the new Holiday Inn (downtown Norton) from 10 pm - 1 am.  Semi-formal/formal attire is requested.  CAVS Card ID required; each student may be accompanied by one guest with ID.   A photographer will be available for portraits from 10 pm - midnight; packages must be paid for that evening.

 

 
   
Jam4Man  

Jam-4-Man will be held on May 2 & 3 at the UVa-Wise intramural field (near Carl Smith Stadium).  All events will begin at 5 pm each day.  Admission is either $5 or 5 canned food items.  All proceeds from this event benefit the local Hope House.
