A
Thesis must meet three requirements:
1. The Thesis should clearly state the topic In developing this part of the thesis, pick a one word topic and then develop it into a short phrase. Example:
|
2.
The Thesis should specify or narrow the topic
The thesis must narrow the topic down to a level that is manageable in the assignment. Many times a topic is too broad to be successfully covered in the space allowed, so one must take care to sufficiently narrow the topic. On the other hand, occasionally a person has to re-direct a topic because they either cannot find enough information on it, or they find themselves lapsing into an analysis of parallel topics. In this case, the thesis is re-directed to one of the parallel topics--which becomes the main topic. Example:
|
3.
The Thesis should indicate the direction of the topic,
i.e., the types of analysis used in conjunction w/ the topic The thesis should indicate the direction of the sociological analysis. It is possible for a thesis to suggest any combination of the Types of Analysis discussed earlier. You may return to the Term Paper Webpage and see Types
of Analysis

of analysis . Can you find them?
