Periodically, we will conduct
a project such as discussion teams, debates, role playing, videos, writing
exercises, etc. You will be graded on content and participation.
At times, formal discussion
teams will be organized around specific issues as projects. After
discussion and analysis, the teams report back to the class. Students
may be asked to perform as professionals in the roles of decision-maker,
team leader, facilitator, editor and various resource specialists from
a variety of disciplines. When an assignment is given by the
Professor, the team is to solve the problem and present their solution
to the class. It is expected that all work done in the course, especially
in projects, be conducted in a professional, scholarly, & respectful
manner.
Please note that I am a Title IX Responsible Employee, ie a Mandatory
Reporter, which means that if you disclose any relevant experiences, eg,
sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, & the like,
that occurred to you or someone else, I am legally obligatedto report this
information to our Title IX coordinator.
Notes should be taken. Periodically,
notes may be collected and evaluated. Announced or pop quizzes are
a possible. These may be over lecture, the readings (which may or
may not have been covered in class), videos, presentations, etc.
You may be asked to outline the answer for an essay question.
Save all reviews and projects.
They are fair game for the exams.
