| In the Forums,
the student shall provide TWO ENTRIES on TWO DIFFERENT DAYS. One
should respond to the discussion question, one should respond to another
student. Online forums allow students to participate in course discussions
w/ fellow class members. There is a forum for each question in which you
are required to respond & reply to other students. For each forum you
are to make at least two separate entries in the forum, at different times.
It is suggested that you respond at least once to the discussion question,
& at least once to another user by the due date for each unit (see
the course schedule). Please use the Subject Line & indicate whether
your post is: MY COMMENT, or RESPONSE TO... Students are always concerned
w/ 'how much... how long should my answer be?' About 50 words should be
good for each of your two entries, or 4 separate entries of at least 20
words each. If your response is short, you will not receive full credit.

Recalling the role Solidarity played in establishing Polish democracy,
discuss how unions & the Labor Movement are or are not well suited
for this type of role / function, i.e. what features or characteristics
does the Labor Movement have that make it well suited to oppose totalitarianism
& support democracy? How might the Arab Spring have been
different if these nations had active unions? Should the US
Labor Movement actively support such democratic movements around
the world? Why or why not?
