Project:  Establishing Validity Claims

For Habermas, there are FOUR Requirements to Establish Validity Claims, including that
-  the speaker is understood
-  the propositions offered are believed to be true to the speaker
-  the speaker is honestly voicing an opinion
-  the speaker has a right to offer propositions

1.  Pick a personal or social problem & offer validity claims from both sides of the argument.  Examples:  abortion, war, infidelity, env issue

2.  Would this discussion be different than that offered by the general public?  How?

3.  Would this discussion be different than that offered by politicians?  How?

4.  Do you think this discussion would have a better chance at success than public discussion or political discussion?
