Project:   Can Social Movements Save Politics?

In our society today lawyers, politics, pop music & so on are the butt of many jokes & are generally despised.

1.  Do you agree w/ this assessment?  Why or why not?

2.  Are social movements also despised?  Are they more or less despised?  Why or why not?

3.  Could social movements improve our opinion of politics?  That is, are social movements improving the political process or harming it?  Are they bringing people together toward consensus or fragmenting society?
