Introduction to Sociology:  In-class Team Project
Source Readings

1.     What is your opinion of Berger's belief that sociology "makes us see in a new light the very world in which we
have lived all our lives."  Is sociology more relevant because it is more difficult to ignore/segregate
this information into a special compartment of the mind, which we can then ignore?

2.     Explain what Mills means by the sociological imagination.  make three or more major points.

3.     What is meant by primary groups.  List and describe some primary groups to which you belong.
What has happened to the neighborhood as far as primary groups are concerned?

4.     What do we mean by social capital?  Compare it to physical capital, and if you have heard of it, political capital.
Give an original example of where social capital is being developed or used.
