Discuss why those dealing w/ environmental issues should be concerned w/ epistemology.  In your discussion, look at the issues of epistemology and the environment from the point of view of three or four of the major participants in the environmental debate.  How might each participant gain or lose from dealing w/ or ignoring a critique of science, the politicization of science, the ways of understanding, culture, attitudes, opinions, interests, ideology, and so on. 

That is to say, is being ignorant of the issues an advantage?  Is being knowledgeable an advantage?  Why?
