Philosophic Rhetoric

• Plato's rhetoric is largely defined in opposition to the sophistic rhetoric.

• The most important aspect was the emphasis on knowledge rather than true belief.

• Rhetoric could be used to change true belief into false belief, but not change knowledge into ignorance.
