2005 Virginia State Phi Beta Lambda Leadership Conference

    The Gamma Alpha Sigma chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda organization at the University of Virginia's College at Wise recently traveled to Richmond, VA to attend and compete at the 2005 State Leadership Conference.  There were seven students, one advisor, and one supporter attending this years conference: Dr. Gary Stratton (advisor), Michael McBride, Brandon Tester, Matt Adkins, Brent Foley, B.J. Brooks, Erin Hamm, Mallory Mullins, and Angelika ****.   The chapter competed in Marketing, Human Resource Management, Business Law, Public Speaking, and Multimedia Presentation.  Mallory Mullins brought home a second place victory in Marketing and Michael McBride brought home a second place victory in Public Speaking.  The Multimedia team consisting of Matt Adkins, Erin Hamm, and Brandon Tester brought home a first place victory.  Theses five people along with Gary Stratton and Angelika **** will be traveling to Orlando, FL in the June to compete at the National level.  These seven students put a lot of time into the preparation for competition and we are very proud of all seven of these outstanding students and representatives of our chapter and our college.
