Dr. Mary O'Quinn

Dr. Mary O'Quinn joined the faculty at UVa-Wise in the fall of 1992.
She teaches Quantitative Analysis, Methods of Social and Behavioral
Research, Experimental Psychology, an Appalachian Seminar, Psychology
of Gender, Theories of Learning, Educational Psychology, and Jungian
Theory.
As a teacher, Dr. O'Quinn trys to build her students' sense of agency. To accomplish this, she works hard to make statistics and other quantitative courses both worthwhile and enjoyable.
As a researcher, she devotes herself to enabling low-income, rural women to complete their education and transition into meaningful work in both this country and Eastern Europe. Her research supports this goal. In the community, Dr. O'Quinn is an advocate for abused women and children.
