The primary mission of the Center is to increase economic literacy among its constituents. The center engages in activities that provide teachers, students, and the community with economic facts. Individuals must become more knowledgeable about the economic concepts and measures of economic performance to succeed.

The Center provides projects that infuse the "economic way of thinking." Participants will acquire decision-making skills allowing them to identify alternatives and weigh the benefits and costs of decisions and actions.

Because the mission of the Center is to increase economic literacy, its efforts are targeted toward infusing economics into the school curriculum. The Center engages in three activities to accomplish this:

  • Teacher training programs

  • Assisting local schools in curriculum development

  • Serving as a distribution center for the development and dissemination of resource materials for local schools
