Welcome to the AWP!

The AWP strives to work as partners with universities  and public schools to promote effective reform in the teaching of writing. Our mission is to improve writing proficiency and learning in our public schools by training teachers to become writing consultants and agents of change in their school systems, while recognizing themselves as writers.

  • Summer Institute 2010 will be held June 21, 2010, to July 15, 2010, at UVA-Wise.
  • 2010 Summer Writing Retreat will be July 20, 2010, at 5pm to July 22, 2010, at 1pm at the Retreat Center.  Details will be forthcoming. This event is being organized by Robin Charles.
