Workshop 1:
1:00 p.m. –2:00p.m.
Mr. Ruben
Uribe, Physimetrics, Atlanta, GA
"High resolution motion capture of dynamic microscope
imaging"
This presentation dedicates itself to motion capture from a high resolution
camera attached to a standard optical microscope. Many important
scientific
events occur too fast to make accurate measurements. Recording
to a VCR may
not offer enough resolution and interlaced images may blur key components
of
the image. High speed video compression techniques may also cause
degradation of images. Using a high resolution, high speed digital
camera
recording real-time to a computer harddrive eliminates these issues
and
allow for easy recall, image processing, image analysis and archiving
of
data and images. After completion of this presentation, the attendees
will
have insight to the problems associated with recording dynamic microscopy
images and how to resolve these issues.
