RALEIGH, N.C. MARCH 30 - 31, 2000 |
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
The year 2000 offers those involved in the field of microscopy a golden
opportunity to examine that which lies behind us
and to evaluate that which lies before us. AReMS had two excellent
meetings in 1999. The Spring meeting was held at
the University of South Carolina - Spartanburg, with the theme "Forensics
and Microscopy", and the Fall meeting was at Appalachian State University
in Boone, with the theme, "The Industrial Use of The Microscope". Both
meetings offered
a wide variety of speakers, well planned workshops, good food and a
great opportunity to share with fellow microscopists
the exciting things that are happening in our area.
For the Spring Meeting of 2000, the Program Chair (Rick McGill) and
the Host (Ken Culbreth) are working diligently to make this meeting a great
success. I want to encourage you, on behalf of the Executive Committee
of AReMS, to mark your calendars with the dates of this meeting and make
every possible effort to be there. I look forward to seeing all of
you at the Spring 2000 Meeting, in Raleigh, N.C.
Respectfully,
Chuck Turnbill
President, AReMS
